Our Story
My name is Kyarlee Clulow, but many know me by my family name, Tighe. I’m a proud Gamilaraay and Awabakal woman with strong family ties to Moree and Gunnedah. I was born and raised on Dharawal Country, where my journey into culture, healing, and leadership began.
I come from a big family, one of eight siblings, and was raised in out-of-home care by my grandparents alongside my two older brothers. From a young age, my Nan and Pop made sure culture was present in our lives. Whether it was through school programs or community events like NAIDOC Week, they taught us to stand proud in who we are.
It wasn’t until high school that I truly began reconnecting with my culture. I started seeking out programs, reaching out to family, and doing my own cultural learning. I picked up a paintbrush at 15, shortly after losing my eldest brother, and that’s when art became more than expression, it became healing. It became a part of me.
After leaving school, I stepped into community work, mentoring young people, teaching culture, and being the kind of role model I once needed. I’ve since earned a Certificate III in Community Services and gained two years of experience working in Aboriginal education, helping our next generation explore their identity, culture, and leadership.
From this journey, Dhinawan Pathways was born. Dhinawan means “emu” in Gamilaraay, a symbol of strength, purpose, and connection to Country. This platform is built from lived experience, resilience, and cultural pride. It’s a space to give back, to create culturally safe pathways for healing, identity, and leadership.
This is more than just a business, this is my way of walking with community, honouring where I come from, and helping others find strength in who they are.
